Job Description:

In the last few years India GSG has witnessed significant growth in onboarding best, brightest and boldest talents to CDM Smith family and assisting the firm in delivering exciting projects to our Clients. With growth, comes the opportunities of new roles and leadership positions. The Water Technical Services Center has an immediate need for a Regional Team Lead. The location for this position will be any one of the Offices in India GSG.

The Regional Team Leader is responsible for supervising a team 25 – 30 employees and provides mentoring, training, and leadership to inspire the team to achieve their optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting Employees’ Career Journey:

o Communicate, integrate, connect, and engage with team members.

o Actively participate in team members’ career paths, including identifying and completing appropriate training, achieving professional registration/certification, and assigning challenging projects.

o Select suitable mentors for employees as part of the Structured Mentoring Program.

o Celebrate team members at important milestones (e.g., work anniversaries, promotions, professional registration).

• Performance Management:

o Conduct timely and authentic annual performance appraisals, coordinating with technical mentors, project managers, TDMs, and others.

o Instill a sense of personal ownership for work product quality by each team member.

• Intellectual Property and Community of Practice:

o Leverage and apply intellectual property, especially regarding Community of Practice participation.

o Participate in CoP and encourage team for active participation

o Stay updated with industry trends and innovations to identify new business opportunities.

• Recruitment and Hiring:

o Develop a clear understanding of the skills, experience, and qualifications required for the position.

o Create detailed job descriptions that outline the responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations for the role.

o Recruit, interview, and hire new employees (as approved by the TDM) to support project workload and overall firm growth.

o Gather feedback from new hires and hiring managers to identify areas for improvement.

• Client Experience and Quality:

o Deliver a legendary client experience with attention to quality.

o Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

o Coordinate workload within the Technical Services group and utilization goals for team members.

o Ensure team members comply with QA/QC and Health & Safety procedures for project delivery.

o Evaluate project outcomes and processes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.

• Operational Tasks:

o Approve time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner.

o Ensure team members complete all required training (Compliance, Health & Safety, Ethics, etc.) on time.

o Ensure team members comply with QA/QC and Health & Safety procedures for project delivery.

• Financial Responsibilities:

o Responsible for the actual profit margin delivered by the team.

o Coordinate with the TDM for appropriate technical staff assignments.

o Deliver appropriate sales support, as coordinated with the TDM.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in environmental or civil Engineering or related discipline.

Professional engineering (PE) license or Project Management or Chartered Engineering (CEng) preferred.

15+ years of related experience with people management experience.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
