Diageo Procurement operations Sourcing specialist in Bangalore, India

Job Description :

Context/Scope: The Supplier Experience Team is responsible to ensure that Source To Pay processes (including Purchase to Pay and Procurement Operations) are working effectively & efficiently, are well controlled and drive value for Diageo, also ensuring control agenda (SOX compliance) across all areas as well. This role is part of the Supplier Experience Team and reports to the Procurement Operations Team Lead. This role acts as the interface between GBO & Procurement community (accountable for the purchasing strategy) ensuring Diageo buys the right goods and services from the right supplier at the right price. This is a senior sourcing specialist role which will directly support the Global and Regional Category Procurement teams, D&T global procurement, STP systems support and suppliers. Advanced prior experience and understanding of sourcing and contracting processes and practices is essential.

Dimensions:

a) Financial: The role will support the overall Sourcing process, both for spend owned by GBO end-to-end and spend managed by regional procurement. The role will be responsible to deliver productivity savings (both hard and mitigation) through efficient and effective sourcing processes

Market Complexity: This role will work with the global Indirect Procurement Category leaders, regional sourcing functions and Specialists and suppliers and will interface with business users and senior Stakeholders who purchase goods and services across the different global locations and market for which users have defined responsibility. These relationships may encompass people based in a variety of locations and across multiple cultures, languages, seniority levels and time-zones. Advanced prior experience and understanding of Indirect category sourcing and contracting processes and practices is essential.

c) Leadership Responsibilities: This role has no line management responsibilities, but the role will be expected to lead and manage GBO Sourcing activities that will need the candidate to show strong leadership qualities. We are looking for a sourcing lead to analyse costs, negotiate contract details, and offer strategies and solutions to help Diageo Global Category & regional Functions better manage costs on supplies and vendor services. The incumbent will manage, direct, negotiate, and guide on awarding complex high-value and unique acquisitions for goods and services. The Sourcing lead will act as a partner to various Diageo functions and market teams and instructs internal and external personnel on Procurement policies, procedures, Standard in Controls, digital sourcing opportunities & transformation.

Responsibilities The Sourcing Expert would be expected to be responsible for:

· Execute Complex sourcing projects of categories/sub-categories to include: - business requirements into clear statements of Work, solicits bids, leads auctions/E-Auctions within the agreed SLA’s and KPI’s · Should prepare TCO & negotiation scripts and negotiate with suppliers, makes recommendations, helps on-board, qualifies, and contracts with new vendor and ensures compliance. · Analysing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction strategies, supporting negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality · Collaborating with the multiple cross-functional teams & functions to identify and pursue new supplier & cost opportunities to drive purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trends/benchmarks. · Provide expert advice to Various functions, Global Procurement teams and business users on tender/RFP and eAuction process, strategies and leveraging on Coupa & digital sourcing functionalities and eAuction formats to achieve optimal sourcing project outcome. · Manage project allocation, support team members during kick off meeting and share best practices. · Identifying & driving the opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives to drive process improvement & efficiencies, drive productivity & cost saving targets.

Purpose of Role: The Procurement operations Sourcing specialist: · Manage and optimize functional sourcing support activities while ensuring adherence to Diageo standards. Provide necessary information input to GBO & different stakeholders. · Demonstrated ability to apply and translate business expertise to breakthrough thinking that significantly impacts the Diageo’s long-term strategic position, thought leaders. · Monitoring sourcing performance satisfaction, drive productivity & cost saving targets ensuring all SLAs accountable for are met and drive continuous improvement initiatives. · Optimize procurement processes, perform regular reviews of established procurement processes to ensure continual improvement.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities · Build credible, sustainable relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers · Maintain governance processes and compliance with SOA · Support STP leadership team to ensure milestones and objectives are always met, taking ownership, and representing GBO sourcing team or wider STP scope in projects.

Qualifications and Experience Required: Degree educated preferably in a business or Procurement related field or relevant commercial experience in a consumer products environment. · 8+ years of experience in Procurement and Sourcing, including but not limited to processes, ways of working, documentation, and compliance requirements. · Advanced business, financial, legal and commercial acumen gained from previous negotiations on sourcing projects and or contract negotiations. · Strong analytical, inter-personal skills, communication skills, negotiation skills and project management experience · Proven track record of consistent performance and delivery (what & how of performance)

· Mastery in eSourcing tools, Coupa and CSO will be preferred. · Able to work proactively and effectively in cross functional and global team at all levels in an organisation. · Language and cultural skills for the markets supported. · Advanced communication and influencing skills. · Experience with managing stakeholders across multiple locations and cultures is a benefit

Barriers to Success in Role Potential Barriers for success would be: · Lack of prior experience in leading negotiations, Sourcing, and contracting activity with limited supervision · Lack of project management skills · Lack of Procurement or market knowledge for their categories and markets · Lack of experience of using sourcing tools and systems · Lack of motivation and leadership skills · Inability and lack of drive to prioritise actions to deliver against tight timelines. · Inability to communicate clearly and concisely in a timely and professional manner
