Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineering Manager in Bangalore, India
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Frameworks team at Microsoft develops AI software that enables running AI models everywhere, from world’s fastest AI supercomputers, to servers, desktops, mobile phones, IoT devices, and internet browsers. We collaborate with our hardware teams and hardware partners to build the software stacks for novel AI accelerators. We work closely with ML researchers and developers to optimize and scale out model training and inference.
The team operates at the intersection of AI algorithmic innovation, purpose-built AI hardware, systems, and software. We are a cross-discipline team of highly capable and motivated people with a collaborative and inclusive culture. We collaborate with hardware design team and build system software stack and developer tools (debugger, profiler, simulator) for the novel AI accelerator.
As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to lead a team working on the system software, developer tools and experience to enable large scale training and inferencing of models on novel AI hardware.

Responsibilities
Hire, build and manage a team of engineers responsible for delivering large scale AI inferencing and training infrastructure.
Mentor less experienced team members
Lead the definition of requirements, priorities and planning of engineering deliverables.
Apply strong engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable architectures and designs.Help establish and drive the adoption of good coding standards and patterns.
Collaborate broadly across multiple disciplines from hardware designers to ML developers to create innovative solutions.
Perform software development in C/C++, Python,C# and other languages.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
B.S. or advanced degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related fields
15+ years of software development experience
5+ years of people management experience
8+ years' experience with C/C+ Preferred Qualifications :
4+ years of people management experience
A strong technical background and solid foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design
Experience in building developer tools such as debuggers and profilers
Exposure to Nvdia/AMD tools for Deep Neural Network training and inference development
Experience in developing SW/FW and or PCIe drivers for SoCs
Exposure to large scale distributed systems and micro-services
Great cross-team collaboration skills and the desire to collaborate in a team of researchers and developers
Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
