Cisco Consulting Engineer | R&S, Catalyst 6500/4500/3850/6800, experience BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IP/MPLS, QoS, Multicast, SDA, SDWAN | 8+ years in Bangalore, India

What You’ll Do

  • Lead & drive technology design, implementation, execution, and/or optimization for projects/accounts to accelerate customer outcomes.

  • Provide/assist customers with integration and implementation of tools, systems, and service assurance for Cisco technologies.

  • Support presale activities and translate business requirements into solution design.

  • Build customer simulations in test labs to resolve/validate issues.

  • Build and deliver customer collateral, portals, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

  • Drive customer technology transitions, influencing solution architectures and services.

  • Align with and support company policies and processes and apply relevant tools to efficiently implement the role and support Professional Services’ strategies and goals.

  • Play the role of an individual contributor.

  • Decisions impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of own team and other teams whose work activities are closely related, including multi-functional teams.

  • Ability to understand and communicate project scope and map it to customer business goals and objectives.

Role and specific responsibilities

  • Associate with customers along with appropriate internal and external resources (e.g. Cisco account teams, partners) on the strategy/deployment/optimization of Cisco services and solutions.

  • Takes ownership of task/project implementation for assigned engagements.

  • Implement new techniques and methodologies used in customer delivery and share lessons learned with the broader team.

  • Builds and reviews project work e.g. Design recommendations, High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, and Implementation/ Change Management Plans.

  • Builds and/or uses test environments as required to resolve sophisticated problems & compatibility issues.

  • Demonstrates software skills and tools to configure, deploy, and/or address Cisco products and solutions.

  • Gives in the development of digital intellectual capital (e.g. scripts, digital signatures).

  • Acts as a focal point for problem resolution for assigned customer engagements. Assures accurate and quick resolution of major customer problems across an appropriate range of technologies.

  • Skills - SDA, SDWAN, Catalyst 6500/4500/3850/6800, experience BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IP/MPLS, QoS, Multicast

  • Design solutions for highly sophisticated requirements in all the EN technology areas

  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery on SDA/SDWAN solution areas

  • Awareness about cloud integrations

  • Understanding of APIs and scripting skills (Python, Ansible)

  • Capability to tackle and handle network issues and work through situations and

  • Understanding of the latest technology and Cisco Offerings like NSO, WIFI-6, DNAC, ISE

  • Led team of junior engineers on specific projects

  • Entrepreneurial thought leadership - Drive the creation of tools/ICs

  • Assist pre-sales discussions and drive proof of concepts

  • Multi-architecture awareness in DC and Security technologies

  • Help hire the right technical talent into the team

  • Chip into tech zone articles and present in internal/external technical forums

  • Experience/Knowledge/Awareness of the multi-vendor environment of R&S, Security, Wireless, and DC technologies.

Leadership / Autonomy

  • Receives limited supervision. Resolves methods and procedures on new assignments. Provides guidance and mentoring to other engineers. Translates worldwide team goals into own work assignments.

  • Mentor and develop others. Involved in strategic projects with high clarity. The emphasis is on complexity, active participant/initiator, and leader.
