Job Overview:

The TurnAround (TA) Specialist/Manager is crucial in overseeing the periodic shutdowns of processing units or plants for maintenance, repair, and overhaul. This role is pivotal in ensuring equipment integrity, operational safety, and compliance with regulatory standards, while effectively managing resources and costs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Planning & Coordination:

Develop detailed plans for upcoming TurnArounds, including schedules, resource allocation, and budget estimations.

Coordinate with various departments, including operations, safety, and procurement, to ensure a seamless TA process.

2. Scope Management:

Define the scope of TurnAround activities, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and upgrades.

Ensure that all tasks align with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational objectives.

3. Resource Management:

Manage the workforce for TurnArounds, which may include internal teams and external contractors.

Oversee logistics, ensuring timely availability of parts, tools, and equipment.

4. Safety & Compliance:

Ensure that all TurnAround activities adhere to industry regulations and safety protocols.

Coordinate with the safety department to conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures.

5. Financial Management:

Oversee the budget for TurnAround activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on safety and quality.

Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure timely completion to minimize lost production time.

6. Reporting & Communication:

Provide regular updates to senior management on TurnAround progress, challenges, and milestones.

Document all activities, learnings, and best practices for future reference.

Technical Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience in the operations sector, specifically in overseeing major industrial TurnArounds.

Strong understanding of industry regulations, equipment standards, and safety protocols.

Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

Soft Skills / Personality Traits:

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Effective communication skills, adept at liaising with various internal teams and external contractors.

Commitment to safety, quality, and timely project delivery.

Tools/Software Skills:

Familiarity with industry-standard project management and scheduling tools.

Proficiency in risk assessment and cost management software.
