Purpose of Role

As a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team, the Vice President of Total Rewards & HR Shared Services at Under Armour will provide overall strategic oversight and guidance on the company’s approach to Compensation, Benefits, Global Mobility, HR Systems, Analytics, Operations, and HR Administration. This teammate will lead and drive efficiencies and practices globally for the organization ensuring a balance of visionary forward-thinking practices with practical, day-to-day efficient operations within the HR organization.

At the highest level, the Total Rewards and HR Operations team within UA’s People (HR) team has the responsibility to oversee all matters involving HR practices, operations, and Total Rewards programs across 30+ countries.

This leader will bring an experienced, strategic approach to driving efficient, scaled HR operations, reduced complexity, and improved practices for all teammates. This can include HR strategic and transactional processes such as HRIS data & systems, HR administration, metrics & reporting, new hire onboarding & offboarding, compensation, benefits, and global relocation programs.

Additionally, this person will maintain an advanced level of business knowledge and financial measures to align and partner with business and HR leaders effectively, the Compensation Committee, and the Board of Directors on strategic plans for executive compensation. This role serves as a part of UA’s HR Leadership Team and reports to the Chief People Officer.

The VP Total Rewards and Shared Services role is located within commutable distance to UA’s Global Corporate Headquarters in Baltimore, MD, and can operate successfully within a hybrid work environment.

Your Impact

Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, and Global Mobility)

  • Lead, design, and implement UA’s Global Total Rewards philosophy

  • Align with leadership, Chief People Officer, and the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors on strategic plans for Executive Compensation

  • Lead successful annual compensation planning including but not limited to execution of base salary, bonus, awards, and all related communications and administration

  • Provide thought leadership to business units on compensation issues including new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, retention arrangements, and compensation structure

  • Lead in the preparation and presentation of materials for Board of Directors Compensation Committee meetings and coordinate preparation of required executive compensation disclosure information

  • Lead the design, annual planning, and implementation of the company’s global benefit programs, including Health and Welfare, 401K/Retirement, Executive Benefits, Voluntary Benefits, and Wellness initiatives Responsible for establishing all standard policies for administration and communication of all benefit programs

  • Oversee Retirement Committee (401(k)) meetings and appropriate documentation of decisions and plan changes adopted

  • Responsible for monitoring trends, legislative and business changes for impact on total rewards and ensuring legal compliance for global total rewards programs

  • Prepare and monitor budget for compensation, benefits, and global mobility programs; monitor cost structure of Compensation & Benefit to ensure they are in alignment with company financial expectations and targets in partnership with legal counsel, ensure efficient and timely filing of all legally required documents and forms

  • Oversee and provide thought leadership of Global Mobility (Relocation) programs

HR Shared Services (HRIS, HR Administration and Operations, Payroll, and HR Analytics)

  • Champions a progressive HR Shared Services strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR Service Center, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of HR services

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery processes and procedures

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and automation within Shared Service functions to optimize team capacity and organizational efficiencies

  • Develop people analytics strategy capturing critical employee data from HR systems including but not limited to, performance, pay, attrition, employee engagement, diversity, training, recruiting, skills, and EEO

  • Manage high-quality and timely administration of employee payroll and benefits

  • Lead and own complex global projects and support cross-functional programs through prioritization against business objectives

  • Develop and execute operational roadmaps to strengthen the HR infrastructure

  • Utilize data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement

  • Stay up to date with HR laws and regulations to ensure compliance with HR Service Center practices and partner with legal to address any emerging issues

  • Manage relationships with HR service vendors and technology providers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or a related field; MBA a plus

  • 15+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, and HR Operations with a focus on innovative, fast-growing workforces, ideally in a global publicly traded organization

  • Strong understanding of interdependencies in program and systems design, legal and tax as well as financial implications of all global compensation elements (e.g., salary, bonus, and equity)

  • Compensation leadership experience in a large, global company

  • Experience in leading large-scale HR programs from design to deployment with heavy change management requirements

  • Strong leadership and staff development skills with prior experience managing teams

  • Ability to interface with members of the Board of Directors and Executive Leaders through a publicly traded company

  • Extensive technical knowledge of all aspects of Total Rewards globally and proven track record of delivering compensation and benefit strategies

  • Full working knowledge and understanding of HR legislation, employment law, principles, policies, and procedures

  • Global HR operations experience building processes that support new international regions, while navigating diverse cultural environments, and adapting HR strategies to align with local employment laws and practices

  • Strong knowledge of HRIS functionality

  • In-depth knowledge of HR practices, policies, and compliance

  • Smart, creative, compelling, and driven; not afraid to lead others past their comfort zone(s)

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders; consultative and collaborative style that allows for influence without authority

  • Energized by speed with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities creating a sense of urgency

  • Flexible and comfortable to roll up your sleeves, with balance of strategic and hands-on

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD

  • Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote

  • Travel: Up to 10% globally, as necessary
