Northrop Grumman Missions Systems / Combat Sensors Advanced Radar Systems business unit is seeking experienced engineers with expertise in the design and integration of highly complex RF Subsystem (LRU) and Assembly (LRM and lower component level) related to Signal Conversion technology/Receiver/Exciter.
Qualified candidates will lead a diverse and talented team of engineers developing and integrating the next generation receiver/exciter system for the Advanced Radar Systems business. Applicants should be able to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to the development of new principles and concepts.
Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:
Development of RF receiver / exciter architectures, requirements generation/flow down; RF subsystem analysis including hardware from RF to digits, RF performance modeling, test integration for requirements verification, and interface with adjacent subsystems and top-level system. Work will be performed under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
In addition, this candidate should have demonstrated technical ability/leadership and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 14 years of experience in the areas described in the job description or 12 years of experience with a Master's Degree and/or 9 years of experience with a PhD. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
US Citizenship is required.
Active Secret Clearance
Ability to develop highly novel solutions to a broad variety of RF/Microwave design and test related problems of complex difficulty which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Established subject matter expertise in numerous areas of RF/Microwave discipline including but not limited to: Receiver and Exciter technology, Antenna, RF components & assemblies, requirements development, EM and related modeling & simulation, RF test verification, production test support, and design for producibility
Exhibit expert proficiency with industry standard RF/Microwave modeling, simulation and printed circuit board design tools (i.e. ANSYS HFSS/Maxwell, CST Microwave, Eagleware/Genesys, Hyperlynx, Keysight ADS, Xpedition, AutoCAD)
Staff Engineers should have a demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing engineers with experience at least at the Sr. Principal level.
Proven knowledge of electrical engineering design software and equipment
Ability to design, implement, install and maintain electrical systems
RF Receiver/Exciters technology
RF Performance Analysis
Computational Electromagnetics, Statistics
RF Subsystem Control Design
Receiver / Exciter subsystem and assembly level measurements and Data Reduction
Subsystem and Assembly Level Control and Integration
Subsystem requirements (hardware and software) derivation, flow-down, and configuration
Familiarity working with embedded real time software and digital systems
Familiarity with firmware development tool suites including Quartus and Vivado.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Radar Systems Program Clearance
TS/SCI
Comfortable creating test support applications and tools using MATLAB, python, etc
Experience with agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, Git
A Final Active Secret Clearance is required to start. Candidates have to be able to obtain and maintain at least a Secret Clearance per business requirements.
Salary Range: $157,500 - $236,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
