Johns Hopkins University Sr. HR Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Bloomberg School of Public Health Human Resources Office is seeking a Sr. HR Coordinator to provide recruitment coordination, support and assistance to centralized HR Team. This position will be reporting to an HR Business Partner (HRBP) within the Bloomberg HR team. The position must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in customer service and ensure efficient human resources and payroll functioning for an assigned group of departments within JHSPH. While this position focuses primarily on recruitment coordination, the team itself is responsible for a wide range of payroll and human resources support to departments including recruitment and employment; salary administration and analysis; JHU required training and education; leave management; benefits interpretation, personnel records management, HR policy interpretation, as well as information dissemination. The Sr. HRC will interact directly with department clients, including all levels of faculty and staff, to ensure smooth transacting and troubleshooting of a wide array of payroll and HR actions. This position will work with the HRBP in the resolution of issues and requires excellent organization, communication, customer service, and follow-through skills.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition Coordination & Support– 70%

  • Reviews requests for job postings and submits requisitions for staff positions through OMT requisition tool using thorough attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with hiring managers and JHU recruiters to support overall recruitment for BSPH.

  • Partners with JHU central recruiters to lead recruitment strategy meetings with hiring managers and consult on overall process, interview strategy, and best practices.

  • Reviews candidate resumes and prescreen applicants.

  • Participates in and coordinates interviews as needed.

  • Monitors the status of active recruitment using JHU’s applicant tracking system – Success Factors Recruitment.

  • Calculates and creates salary offers through coordination with department, HRBP, and JHU Compensation.

  • Ensures successful onboarding of candidates and conducts check-ins throughout the new employee’s introductory period.

  • Leads New Hire Orientation presentation with HR partners for all new BSPH staff.

  • Participates in JHU and BSPH job fairs.

  • Maintains accurate BSPH HR requisition tracking using Microsoft Excel.

  • Regularly reviews I9 status of new hires, advises on completion process as needed.

Payroll Processing and Administration – 30%

  • Initiates multiple payroll actions via Internal Service Requests (ISR) and Employment Action (EA) for faculty, staff, and student employees.

  • Processing of time entry for hourly staff via CATS bi-weekly.

  • Assists with coordination and tracking of FMLA paperwork along with processing of payroll related to E210 time keeping.

  • Resolves E210 issues in conjunction with Health Sciences central HR.

  • Runs monthly reports (as assigned) such as temp. inactive, overpayment, and work authorization; assists with resolution of items requiring action.

  • Collaborates with various HR offices across JHU, including HR Shared Services, JHSPH Finance Office, Central HR, and Office of International Services to understand policies and procedures and troubleshoot issues.

  • Assist with Employee Relations, ADA cases and Unemployment Hearings alongside HR Business Partner.

  • Assists and supports HRBP with coordination of training schedules for BSPH new hires, including conducting side by side training as needed.

  • Conducts exit interviews and assists with offboarding.

  • Ensures maintenance of HR databases, master data and employee filing system.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned, including assistance with student processing overflow.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of recruiting or recruitment coordination experience.

  • Prior experience with SAP Software and Service Now.

Starting Salary Range: $45,700 - $80,000 Annually (Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5:00pm
