The Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector has an immediate need for a n Operations/Principal Engineering Operations Project Management (OPM) - Technical in Linthicum, MD. This Position requires on site availability full time split between 2 separate locations (location by day will be dependent upon business need).

The OPM candidate must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills, a strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to present program visibility at internal/external meetings (to include all levels of management- including executive level). The OPM must be a self-starter and self-motivated individual who can work in a fast paced environment.

In addition, this role will be responsible for reviewing engineering designs from concept to drawing stage for: manufacturability, helping to develop production test solutions, and identifying gaps in existing infrastructure to complete program objectives. Consistent interface with design team to ensure manufacturing design guidelines are met.

The responsibilities of an OPM include, but are not limited to:

• Managing and maintaining the day to day interfaces and communications between the assigned Program Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing, Test, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Mission Assurance (MA), Supply Chain (SCM), Engineering, and Shipping.

• Achieving targeted cost and schedule requirements.

• Facilitating internal meetings in a way to support design, production, and problem resolutions.

• Reporting Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and serving as the Cost Account Management (CAM) for manufacturing projects.

• Representing manufacturing as a subject matter expert at Non Advocate Reviews / Independent Cost Evaluations (NARICE).

• Leading or participating on a product team, responsible for product-level requirements analysis, engineering and manufacturing of the products assigned, product tracking, and product visibility.

• Representing manufacturing at the program Risk Review Board (RRB) meetings and creating / managing any applicable manufacturing risks and/or opportunities from the program risk register.

• Supporting and generating proposal documentation as needed to foster new work.

This is not a Manager job. This is an individual contributor role.

Basic Qualifications:

• Operations Project Mgmt (Lvl 2): Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience; a Master's degree; or 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree

Principal Project Mgmt (Lvl 3): Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience; Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience; a PhD; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree

•The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or SCI security clearance per business requirements.

• Demonstrated experience in leadership and/or project management

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, testing, and/or design

• Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and MS Office applications including: Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Management

• Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement

• Experience with bases of estimates, shop order creation, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

• Active Top Secret or SCI clearance

Salary Range: $83,300 - $124,900

Salary Range 2: $102,400 - $153,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
