We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager - Building Envelope who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. Based at a project site in Baltimore, MD, and working alongside other project managers, you’ll be responsible not only for the overall project delivery, but also for the management of the project development from conception through completion in accordance with program objectives. You'll manage and provide construction oversight to OARs and resolve complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
As the onsite Owners Representative, you’ll be responsible for ensuring not only the progress and technical performance of a project, but also the material management, schedule, cost, scope and safety of the team. You’ll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques and play an integral role in mentoring staff.
Your keen ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, tackle project challenges, solve complex problems, and experience on construction projects with an operational perspective will allow you to thrive in our fast-paced environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, technical expertise in the construction process and a thorough understanding of commissioning methods and objectives.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering
• Minimum 15 years’ experience of as a Construction Project Manager on vertical buildings projects
• 5+ years experience in building enclosure consulting with sound knowledge of building materials, field investigation methods, and principles including glazing systems, curtain walls, roofing, waterproofing, cladding, and insulation
• Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, building systems/components and technology, building codes, materials, and quality control procedures for building envelope systems.
• Previous experience with projects for a large institution with large facilities staff and specific design standards or construction specifications over $100M or 200,000 SF
• Previous experience participating in pre-design, preconstruction, or integrated design processes where the owner, architect, construction manager, and trade contractors work together to develop the design.
• Excellent communication skills as this role is client-facing
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
Ideally, you'll also have:
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• High sustainability goals such as LEED Gold or equivalent
