About This Role:

Provides oversight and operational support for the margining and collateral management of T. Rowe Price derivatives and other complex instruments. Responsible for monitoring daily counterparty exposures, margin call activity and margin settlements. Coordinates margin activity across T. Rowe Price investments, trading, and operations teams. Monitors counterparty collateral disputes and reviews material and aged collateral disputes, actioning as necessary for escalation and resolution. Primary point of escalation for margin disputes and exceptions. Collaborates with front office personnel, counterparties, and service providers to resolve margin disputes and challenges. Works under minimal supervision with direct accountability for daily margin operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers a broad range of portfolio transactions, ensuring proper controls and validations are in place and that activities are accurate and compliant. Identifies quality, accuracy, or compliance deficiencies and corrects. Guides less experienced peers and support staff on preventing errors and interpreting process controls.

  • Serves as a primary liaison between securities operations staff, relationship managers, portfolio managers, custodians, and clients to collect, analyze, and communicate information that impacts accounts. Fields and manages queries from internal or external clients and follows through to resolution.

  • Oversees daily margin and collateral management activity and coordinates margin calls and settlements across investments, trading, and operations teams. Works closely with service providers to ensure daily margin requirements are met and successfully settled.

  • Monitors margin and collateral disputes. Works closely with counterparties, service providers, and risk management to escalate and resolve disputes on a timely basis.

  • Monitors margin settlements and fails. Escalates material aged failures with counterparties for resolution.

  • Acts as primary point of escalation for margin disputes and service exceptions. Directs service providers to address exceptional margin issues impacting BAU.

  • Contributes as a margin and collateral management SME and leads margin and collateral projects spanning regulatory initiatives, new product launches, and process improvements.

  • Analyzes report metrics and develops recommendations to address deficiencies.

    Typical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience within the financial services industry

  • 8+ years of experience within investment operations

  • 4+ years of experience supporting financial derivatives

  • 2+ years of collateral management or margin experience servicing both cleared and bilateral workflows

  • 2+ years of leadership and people management experience

Work Flexibility:

This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
