Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator who will perform duties to support research conducted in, but not limited to, the Precision Medicine Center of Excellence-Alzheimer’s disease (PMCoE-AD).

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Research Duties

  • Verify participant eligibility for studies by comparing patient history with protocol requirements.

  • Recruit participants from the Johns Hopkins Memory and Alzheimer’s Treatment Center and the JH entities and complete informed consent process.

  • Coordinate participant research visits.

  • Complete Venipuncture Biomarker Extraction, training provided if needed.

  • Administer and score neuropsychological testing.

  • Collect, maintain and manage data and carry out the related work necessary to complete study goals.

  • Perform data entry ensuring complete and accurate database entry.

  • Perform record reviews, using the EPIC system, and upload relevant information to online study databases (CRMS/OnCore, REDCap, Openspecimen, iLabs).

  • Ensure adherence to study protocols (IRB compliance) and study quality and maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Travel to other JHH/JHU campuses to deliver specimens or accompany participants to other study procedures (fMRI imaging facilities).

  • Create forms for study use (i.e., recruitment flyers, data collection sheets, consent forms, etc.).

  • Edit and complete IRB submissions, including new projects, continuing review, change in research, termination reports, and further study actions.

  • Create and maintain databases, and maintain records for various research projects.

  • Perform simple statistics in Microsoft Excel. Extrapolate data and display in a recognizable format to present to study team members and the PI.

  • Create figures and diagrams for manuscripts and posters.

  • Develop and edit manuscripts and posters.

  • Prepare reports and applications to funding agencies and internal sources including IRB.

  • Gain familiarity with library research procedures, completing literature searches culminating in the development of and maintenance of a reference library.

  • Conduct reviews of the scientific literature and maintain bibliography.

  • Meet with Principal Investigator to review study progress.

Administrative Duties

  • Coordinate conference calls and book meetings for various research projects.

  • Operate audio/video equipment and coordinate with catering companies for meetings.

  • Complete invoice and reimbursement payments.

  • Plan, support, and communicate meetings of investigators.

  • Participate in ongoing literature reviews and secondary data analyses leading to authorship on publications.

  • Ability to make independent decisions and work for periods without direction.

  • Ability to work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously and concurrent deadlines.

  • Very strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees as well as outside contacts.

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications

  • Receive training in neuropsychological assessment.

  • Receive training in venipuncture extraction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Some related experience.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($48,880 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
