Overview
TheResearch Aide will assist with and provide administrative support to research studies. The incumbentwill assist data collection and entry, recruitment of research participants, and helping to ensure researchparticipants are prepared for research study activities.
Responsibilities
Assist with the administration and scoring of behavioral testing for rodents.
Assist with research studies performed in the Scafidi Lab, including PCR for genotyping,preparation of tissue for RNA isolation, RNA isolation, cDNA preparation, and rtPCR. May alsoperform western blots, protein quantification, and preparation of solutions when trained.
Organize and maintain lab notebook to document all procedures and experiments. Maintainrecords of all experiments performed with dates in lab research notebook.
Attend research lab meetings. Attend Clinical Grand Rounds as needed.
Preparation of tubes for HCA canine project.
Preparation of research samples and drugs used to inject rodents
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program is ideal.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience working in a research setting preferred.
