Under the direct physical supervision of the Pharmacist-Compounding Specialist, this position is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels of compounding medications and chemicals, management and streamlining of current, expired, and destroyed compounded medications, and preparing and cleaning the compounding area on a daily basis. Duties will include chemicals and medications purchasing, compound supplies and equipment ordering, record and document maintenance, and finished compounds label preparation. The compounding technician is also responsible for a variety of duties including the packing and shipping of compounded medications to various Johns Hopkins Outpatient Pharmacies, and serves as a point of communication between JHOP to coordinate appropriate batch amount. When not assigned to a compounding shift, this position will perform assigned technician duties in the pharmacy workflow. The pharmacy technician will report directly to the Pharmacy Business Manager. In the absence of the Pharmacy Business Manager, the technician will report directly to the Pharmacist Clinical Manager, the Pharmacy Operations Manager, or the Pharmacist-Compounding Specialist in charge.

-Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required upon hire.

-Two (2) years retail pharmacy technician experience.
