TEKsystems Network Architect in Baltimore, Maryland
The Network Architect is responsible for the design of the University’s data network and network services. The Network Architect’s Primary responsibilities includes planning, designing, and developing a robust network architecture, high-level monitoring of the network and network services for optimal performance and reliability, determining how to upgrade network and network services to incorporate new technology trends, high-level capacity planning to meet University’s growth, and is the primary project engineering resource for projects implementing new technologies. The Network Architect will mentor, guide and assist other engineers regularly, including assistance in creating and/or modifying technical and service documents.
In addition, the Network Architect will assist with the installation, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links, including the wireless network and VoIP infrastructure. The Network Architect is also responsible for troubleshooting complex and large-scale service-impacting failures and leading the engineering team in the effort to resolve the problem in a timely and accurate manner.
Projects this person will be helping with:
Migrating one of our Datacenters to a new modern datacenter.
Datacenter network infrastructure redesign planning, not implementation since that will occur outside the contract term.
Cisco VoIP infrastructure platform upgrade, including Call Manager, Unity, Contact Center, Emergency Responder, and Informacast.
SIP infrastructure redesign -- Migrate IOS-based 3925's to IOS-Xe based 8300 series routers.
Will be a contributing member on the DNA center implementation project.
Will be a contributing member of the Next Generation Firewall / IPS project (in progress), migrating to new hardware with Firepower FTD OS.
Webex Teams Phone Integration scale out planning – working through automation and other methods of scaling our limited installation to a campus-wide implementation. This project may or may not occur during the contract term.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
A minimum 7 Year of hands-on experience as a Network Architect or a network engineer in a large-scale Cisco enterprise network environment. Hands-on knowledge of Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) and related components including but not limited to Cisco Unity, Contact Center, Finesse, VCS Express Gateways and Emergency Responder.
