Expected salary range of $64,000 to $80,000 , varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The responsibility of the Analyst is to follow and analyze energy markets and utilize market knowledge to identify and pursue commercial opportunities that add gross margin for the organization. Opportunities may take the form of long-term structured transactions, shorter term trading strategies, physical asset optimization or other that may develop.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Analyze and evaluate complex wholesale energy transactions to ensure that all relevant aspects are identified, priced and structured to meet internal and customer needs.

  • Identify and respond to market opportunities.

  • Stay informed of new developments in the trading marketplace: new entrants, counterparty scoping, developing market activity and regulatory/legal proposals

  • Develop/utilize complex models to price risk management products and/or derive forward prices.

  • Liaison with clients, both external and internal, to meet business goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated decision making capabilities coupled with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Challenged by bottom-line results

  • Self-motivated to achieve success in a rapidly evolving environment

  • Expertise in managing, analyzing, and summarizing large quantities of data

  • Analytical rigor and ability to summarize analysis into actionable, practical conclusions

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders

  • Ability to work in team environment

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent Education and experience in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aptitude with programming tools is a plus (Matlab, C++, Python, R, SecDB, Oracle database, AMP, etc.)
