WSP is currently initiating a search for an Architectural Historian for our Baltimore office. Be involved in projects with our Heritage and Cultural Resources Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Manage heritage and cultural resources, preserving histories for the future.
Deliver quality cultural resource compliance for diverse clients.
Who You Are
Master’s Degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a related field.
3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the context of Section 106/110 compliance.
Understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory framework for cultural resource management compliance.
Meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards in the field of architectural history or history.
Familiarity with applying the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.
Experience applying the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) Criteria to write defensible determinations of eligibility.
Experience assessing direct and indirect effects on historic properties.
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Experience / expertise in cultural resource management for transportation projects including NEPA compliance documents.
Experience / expertise in cultural resource management for Federal projects including NEPA compliance documents.
Experience / expertise in consulting party coordination including participation in public meetings and preparation of consultation letters.
