Robert Half Accounting Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the non-profit sector, located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role requires the successful candidate to oversee accounting functions within the organization, utilizing specific skills such as ERP Solutions, Accounting Functions, Auditing, NetSuite, and Month End Close.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the organization's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems

• Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out

• Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organizations

• Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines

• Overseeing all audit and internal control operations

• Directing accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting

• Analyzing company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets

• Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs

• Utilizing ERP solutions for streamlining accounting functions and operations

• Ensuring all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations

• Conducting month-end and year-end close processes. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Functions such as preparing financial statements, maintaining balance sheets, ledger operations, bank reconciliations, and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ERP Solutions.

• Proven expertise in Auditing, ensuring compliance with regulations and identifying operational inefficiencies.

• Experience with NetSuite or similar financial software.

• Ability to handle Month End Close processes, including preparation and posting of journal entries, analysis of variances, and generation of financial reports.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proven experience in a similar role within a non-profit organization would be beneficial.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be a plus.
