Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland
Description
We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is a long-term contract position. The primary responsibilities of this role include processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately review property tax assessments and implement changes as necessary
• Evaluate refund requests and input them into the system
• Respond to emails regarding customer refund requests
• Manage requests to modify special tax credits and update customer property tax records as needed
• Enter part-year property tax payments into the legacy property tax system
• Review backlog of property tax refund requests and process refunds when necessary
• Process refunds and adjustments for real property assessment revisions, special credits, and customer overpayments
• Verify related payments and property transfer information from various data sources
• Scan, email, and save documents to a designated electronic file and update information in Salesforce tracking system
• Address customer inquiries or concerns via email, incoming calls, or on-site visits
Requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
• Knowledge of Property Tax
• Must possess strong Data Entry skills
• Experience in Billing is needed
• Ability to process refunds efficiently
• Competency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial
