KRUM FARMS Ag Equipment Operator in BALLANTINE, Montana
Temporary full time from 3/15/2025 - 11/30/2025 Agricultural employee is required to work with many different types of farm machinery for soil preparation, crop planting and harvesting. Worker will be required to drive and control farm equipment to till soil, seed/plant, fertilize, spray pesticides, cultivate and harvest beet crops, and hay. Employee is required to maintain and make minor repairs of the equipment they operate. Mechanical skills and experience are required to use equipment necessary to perform the tasks above. Worker will be required to perform routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on farm equipment. The worker is also required to attach farm implements, such as plow, disc, sprayer, or harvester, to tractor, using mechanic?s hand tools; Minimal maintenance fencing on existing fence lines will be required along with facility and grounds maintenance. Irrigation duties will include the following: connect pipes, check alignment of pipe and adjust for proper water distribution, attach lines to water supply; turn on pump; turn valves to start the flow of water; disassemble lines and carry pipe across field at specific intervals; move pipes through freshly irrigated and or plowed fields where mud will be deep at times; life and carry pipe sections weighting approximately 40 pounds on a sustained basis. To work as a general farm laborer requires physical coordination, decision-making ability, mechanical aptitude and driving skills. The ability to listen to and follow verbal directions is imperative. The job entails working outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, cold, wind dust, rain and snow). Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Worker is required to have a current driver?s license. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. Drivers license required, 3 months experience is required. Long/odd hours with split shifts required during harvest and seeding. Increased wage and bonuses possible based on experience.
