Northern Metal Fab, Inc. QA Technician - 2nd shift M-Th 2:30PM - 1AM in Baldwin, Wisconsin
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform inspections and document results for assigned jobs and projects as specified in job instructions and Inspection Test Plans. Follow up with Engineering and Production personnel for disposition and corrective action. Ensure all documentation is properly filed.
Monitor the quality of jobs in progress to ensure consistent conformance to specifications.
Document non-conformance's and assist production personnel in their documentation as required.
Work with Engineering and Production to improve quality system processes and procedures. Participate in continuous improvement projects. Provide training where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Five to seven years of experience in one or more areas of a metal fabrication job shop Must be familiar with a wide variety of industrial manufacturing processes, equipment and techniques with an emphasis on fabrication and weld processes.
Strong ability to read, understand and interpret drawings, models, as well as bills of material and routing
Demonstrated proficiency in using inspection equipment
Requires a level of educational development equivalent to that acquired through High School.
Certifications in weld inspection (e.g. AWS – CWI), as well as additional certifications (e.g. ASQ, ASNT, NACE) are encouraged.
Proficiency in a variety of PC-based software applications including Quality tracking software, spreadsheets and manufacturing systems is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with all Internal functions. High levels of initiative, judgment and creativity are expected.
