Summary
Senior team member responsible for coaching and training F-16 Avionics Technicians, assisting in the incorporation of new work scope into the site, and identifying opportunities to improve site operations. Responsible for modification, upgrade, & test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coaches and trains other F-16 Avionics Technicians
Assists in developing work cards, work instructions, job aids, and operation sequencing
Complete jobs in maintenance data collection systems, adhere to all technical orders, fault isolation manuals, ground operating procedures and local operational instructions.
Perform advanced troubleshooting to repair or replace damaged components.
Assist with inspections.
Replace and repair worn or damaged components.
Provide flight line assistance for launch, recovery, and inspections.
When required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systems
Must effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.
In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship.
Ability to pass physical screening requirements
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED.
Must have held a USAF 7 skill level or equivalent in F-16 Avionics Systems.
Leadership experience preferred.
Microsoft Office skills are preferred.
Work Conditions
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs.
Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
