Robert Half Patient Care Coordinator in Bakersfield, California

Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented professional to join our team in the healthcare industry, located in Bakersfield, California, as a Patient Registration Specialist. This role focuses on processing patient registrations, verifying insurance details, and maintaining effective communication with patients.

Responsibilities:

• Register and pre-register patients in a timely and accurate manner

• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations to ensure seamless processing

• Maintain and update all patient demographics to keep records current

• Explain hospital policies, patient financial responsibilities, and patient rights in a clear and understandable manner

• Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles from patients as required

• Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries promptly and professionally

• Collaborate with various healthcare departments to ensure smooth operations

• Utilize office functions and Microsoft Excel to maintain records and schedule appointments

• Adhere to healthcare policies and regulations while performing tasks

• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in customer service roles, preferably within a healthcare setting

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Familiarity with office functions and administrative tasks

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software

• Experience in training others and supervising a team

• Knowledge of healthcare policy and insurance concepts

• Ability to handle inbound calls and schedule appointments effectively

• Experience in billing functions within a healthcare setting

• Capable of delivering presentations and supporting workstations

• Understanding of benefit functions and check processing

• Knowledge of collection processes and correspondence management

• Proficiency in using spreadsheets for data management and analysis

• Ability to maintain high productivity levels and offer administrative assistance when necessary

• Familiarity with HealthCare.gov and its functionalities

• 10-key skills for data entry tasks

• Experience in obtaining authorizations within a healthcare setting

• Ability to work effectively within a business unit

• Understanding of insurance deductibles and related concepts.
