Avient Corporation SVP, New Business Development and Marketing Excellence in Avon Lake, Ohio

In this newly created role, Avient will be expanding our investment in New Business Development and Marketing Excellence. This executive will be responsible for supporting the growth and diversification of our business both in existing and new markets, geographies and segments. They do this by understanding market / customer needs, trends, mapping entire value chains and tiers, identifying and quantifying addressable market opportunities, product needs, go to market strategies, and organization structures for commercial success and new business building. In order to be successful, the incumbent will collaborate with other departments, such as technical, marketing, sales, engineering / manufacturing, and IT, to align growth goals and initiatives with the overall business vision and strategy. A progressive leader that can also elevate the strength of marketing and market development in the company using traditional and new marketing tools and tactics including use of AI. This critical leader must be able to inspire and lead a high performing team to understand and analyze various end markets and industries, to qualify and quantify the potential commercialization of innovative solutions and have the ability to build and drive the business strategy to achieve success. Their bold thinking combined with a strong commercial acumen and penchant for growth and new business development will solidify their standing as a strong leader, a data-driven decision maker, and a new business builder. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver business cases for increasing revenue, market share, and/or profitability through innovation initiatives by engaging stakeholders across Avient and externally at various stages of the value chain to increase Avient's competitive advantage in existing and new solutions and markets. Proactively provide actionable market data and competitive analysis to business, marketing, and technology leaders to inform decision making and collaborate accordingly to build and support business development plans. Lead Corporate Marketing organization and partner with global product management resources to optimize customer acquisition and retention strategies while delivering exceptional value and services. Provide strategic guidance and leadership to support overall business growth and success including developing and driving Avient's strategic plans. Drive a balance between near, medium, and long-term objectives through prioritization and in alignment with the company's plans. Strengthen and lead a high-performing team to create and implement strategic marketing initiatives across various marketing functions including market development, market research and analysis, social media marketing, product marketing, external partnerships and improving brand awareness. Define, monitor and report on growth metrics and key performance indicators. Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Masters / MBA preferred Demonstrated ability to build and grow global businesses with deep customer and market insights. P&L experience is highly preferred. Deep leadership-level experience leading marketing, market development, business development, with a strong track record of success, and customer focus. Highly goal driven and thrives in a fast-paced, matrix environment Strong people leadership with the ability to think boldly and invigorate others.
