Job Title: Lathe Machinist
Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to join our team. This role involves programming and operating Mazatrol controls on lathes , reading blueprints, and confidently using micrometers to run parts to a .001” tolerance. The individual will be responsible for machining one-off parts, some of which can be 10-14 inches in diameter, requiring the use of an overhead crane.
Responsibilities
Program and operate Mazatrol controls on lathes.
Read and interpret blueprints to program machines.
Indicate parts in a 4 jaw chuck.
Machining one-off parts.
Move large parts into place using an overhead crane.
Ensure parts are machined to a .001” tolerance.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in programming and running Mazatrol controls on lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Competence in using micrometers and running parts to .001” tolerance.
Experience with machining, lathes, and manual machining.
Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
General understanding of Haas Mills.
Experience with Clausing lathes.
Overhead crane experience.
Experience with Mazak lathes.

Work Environment
This is a job shop environment with dies, presses, and welders. The facility is loud and dirty, filled with equipment from a recent company acquisition. The hours are Monday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM , with overtime on Fridays from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM , and occasional Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Uniforms are provided, and 50% of the cost of pants is covered. Steel toes and safety glasses are required.
