Integrative Health specializes in Primary Care and Transition of Care Services and  is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant  for our Primary Care Clinic in Ave Maria, FL . 

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. The MA prepares the patient for time spent with the physician by reviewing history and reconciling medications. Medical Assistants may take blood and/or urine samples, perform diagnostic testing, measure vital signs, and other clinical duties within the scope of their certification. Successful candidates work well in a team environment and are empathetic to patient’s needs and concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following.  Others may be assigned.

  • Prepares patients for exam by taking vitals and updating health information within the EMR.

  • Reviews medication history

  • Prepares exam room for procedures with appropriate equipment and supplies.

  • Assists physician with exams, tests, and/or procedures as required.

  • Administer injections as ordered by physician.

  • Maintains equipment sterilization procedures.

  • Audits clinical supply levels and manages ordering and replacement accordingly.

  • Schedules patient appointments and answers incoming phone calls

  • Maintains patient charts and keys data accurately into patient records.

  • Ensure all new and existing patient forms are properly completed and documented in the EMR (ATHENA)

  • Maintains compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, and any other legal or contracted obligations at all times.

  • Other tasks such as but not limited to front office duties as necessitated by business needs.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or patients, clinic staff, and the general public.

  • Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems

  • Fluent in English

    Education / Experience:  Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

    Required:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical office

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Valid certification as a Medical Assistant

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds 

  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)
