Fedcap Training Coordinator in Austin, Texas

Position Title: Training and Outreach Coordinator

Position Overview: ESLS is a subgrantee (under the SAFE Alliance) for funding from the Office on Violence against Women (OVW) and the Training and Outreach Coordinator plays a critical role meeting the objectives of the Underserved Project. This part-time (15 hours/week) position will be responsible for conducting outreach activities and providing training opportunities. This position requires a passionate individual with strong organizational skills, a deep commitment to social justice, and the ability to engage with diverse communities effectively.

Responsibilities:

Training:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions to educate community members, volunteers, and staff on issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and exploitation.

  • Deliver training on disability awareness to law enforcement officers.

  • Collaborate with community partners to create educational materials and resources.

    Outreach:

  • Organize outreach events to raise awareness and promote advocacy and training initiatives.

  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments to ensure coverage for events and activities.

  • Identify and attend community events/outreach opportunities to promote ESLS programs and activities.

  • Provide referrals for clients when additional services/resources are needed.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment by providing ongoing support and recognition.

    Qualifications:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.

  • Experience in advocacy, community engagement, and volunteer management.

  • Knowledge of issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and disability rights.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and person-centered approaches.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

  • Working vehicle to travel to outreach events and trainings.
