TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Systems Administrator (In Office/Teleworking) in Austin, Texas

This position is eligible for hybrid remote work environment; combination of telecommuting and participating in onsite rotating work schedule at offices located in Austin. The ideal candidate must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule and provide excellent customer support, be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

WHO YOU ARE: Seeking a dedicated IT professional to provide Level III technical support to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong problem solving and analytical skills. Should be proactive and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks; and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to communicate in a professional, customer-focused manner. Collaborates with other IT teams as well as business customers to accomplish work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Systems Administrator performs highly complex (senior-level) systems administration work. Work involves maintaining to coordinating the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of systems. Installs and upgrades computer components and system software. May provide guidance or supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Maintains a reliable, predictable work schedule. May be called upon to work outside of normal business hours to sustain operations or complete urgent assignments.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: -Provide Level III support to customers for desktop support; operating system and desktop applications. Provides creative solutions to desktop technology problems at all organizational levels. -Work with customers to ensure tickets are appropriately assigned and issues are resolved timely. Effectively troubleshoot and work to resolve complex technical issues or coordinate with resources as necessary. -May install, maintain and configure Microsoft Desktop O/S and Applications. Software distribution via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), TWC Software Self Service Portal and manual software installations. -Use powershell, vbscript, or DOS batch files to package and automate software installations for distribution to customers via MECM and the TWC Software Self Service Portal. Coordinates with customers to package and test software for automated installations. -Support Microsoft 365 applications Level II administration to include: mailbox creation, licensing, service monitoring, and recipient management. -Coordinate, lead and provide assistance on special projects. -Administer Active Directory (AD) services: Server file share security and associated file system administration, AD group management, quota management, and workstation administrative access requests. -Create and/or maintain documentation including standard operating procedures. Documents technical troubleshooting efforts. -Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and agency laws, rules, policies and procedures including IT Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that govern TWC IT. -Contribute to teamwork and communicates effectively. -Occasional travel to TWC facilities, kneeling and lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds of computer equipment. -Performs other duties as assigned.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH: -3 to 5 years' experience with Microsoft Desktop O/S and Applications and technical support. -Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)V3.1 Foundation and Service Delivery Certified. -Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 applications and MECM. -Experience with powershell, vbscript and DOS batch files. -Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote and Teams. -Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. -Ability to effectively troubleshoot complex computer technical issues. -Ability to research and develop creative solutions. -Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with team members, customers and management. -Work effectively as a team contributor on assignments; set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines. -Ability to work independently while understanding the need for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.

YOU QUALIFY WITH: -Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, management information systems or a related field plus two years of experience in systems administration work. -Education and experience may be substituted for one another.
