General Summary:

The Director, Sales Go to Market (GTM) global lead will be responsible for managing and growing revenue with a large strategic account. This person will work closely with colleagues around the world and be responsible for creating the strategy and execution for driving the sale through of the Qualcomm OEM portfolio of products into each regions’ channel and direct routes to market for consumer PC products.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will build and manage relationships at all levels around the world including North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. He or she will interface with OEM sales, category planning, segment leaders, and operation teams in the regions to sell through the OEM’s Qualcomm PC platforms. The Director, Sales will work closely with the sales, marketing, and product teams in Qualcomm headquarters as well as teams in the regions. Key responsibilities include introducing and selling the PC OEM’s Qualcomm portfolio of products to the PC OEM’s sales regions, segment teams, marketing teams and category planning teams while gaining regional assortment globally across AMS, EMEA, & APAC. Regional assortment will be focused on the OEM’s direct channels as well as National Resellers and National Retailers and distribution.

Skills/Experience

The Director, Sales will have had extensive experience in developing relationships at large, complex organizations globally. She or he will have managed to sales targets and goals. Experience in selling components to PC OEM and tablet customers and the understanding of the complexity of the compute industry are required. The understanding of technically complex products and experience on how to position these to a broad audience are critical.

  • 10+ years of sales, product management or business development of complex technology products in compute businesses with knowledge of global dynamics of ODMs, OEMs and certification

  • Strategic account management expertise, the ability to manage change and the desire to operate effectively across organizations and customers

  • Experience in region sell-through partnerships with PC OEMs

  • Experience in sell-out and go-to-market with OEM regions and channel partners in Asia Pacific, Japan and China region

  • Deep knowledge and experience in building complex financial models that create win-win situations for Qualcomm and our customers

  • Ability to identify emerging opportunities and proactively engage in pre-sales activity

  • Proficient and detailed understanding of supply chain, product development and marketing of compute products such as notebooks, Chromebooks, and tablets

  • Experience in negotiating and managing MDF and component pricing with large consumer electronic OEMs

  • Ability to communicate, educate and evangelize both internally and externally

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Creative problem solving with strong analytical skills

  • Self-motivated and result-driven

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.

OR

  • Associate's degree and 10+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.

OR

  • High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology or related business field

  • Master’s degree in business or technology preferred

  • 10+ years in sales, business development, product management or related work experience

  • 2+ years in a leadership role

  • 15+ years in product marketing, sales, or product management in the PC industry

Pay range:

$201,000.00 - $301,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
