Charles Schwab Sr Specialist - Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

Duties : Design and manage production environment for Trading Experience Technology – Digital Trading Experience systems. Manage Trading platform connecting to a variety of destinations, covering multiple instrument types. Real-time troubleshooting of trading workflows and incorporate feedback to product development. Develop and manage monitoring framework for a complex distributed Trading system. Collaborate with development and QA, for bringing Trading products and workflows to production from soup-to-nuts. Develop tools and automation to eliminate repetitive tasks, deriving insights from machine generated data such as logs, REST stats, etc. Evangelize SRE mindset and solve problems through systematization. Develop CI/CD orchestration systems to reduce friction for software delivery to production. Develop tools, frameworks, and instrumentation to validate and increase rollout success for applications. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Job Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $139,464 to $160,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 60 months of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position requires 5 years experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: In the alternative, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 36 months of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position requires 3 years experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Monitor & manage large-scale application data centers; Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Win Server or Linux); Deploy, configure and troubleshoot CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins); Troubleshooting networks (DNS, Load Balancers, and TCP/IP); Scripting (Batch Automation, Bash, PowerShell, or Splunk); and Managing and troubleshooting databases (SQL Db and Mongo Db).
