Amazon Sr. Sales Ops Lead, SMGS Ops - AMER APO Business Operations in Austin, Texas

As the Partner Operations Lead within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and drive Operational Efficiency. You will be a key member ensuring the Partner leadership team has the necessary information to operate and execute efficiently. You will function in a highly collaborative and cross-functional role, working with the several stakeholders supporting the extended AWS Partner Organization. You are a proactive and action-oriented self-starter who can effectively navigate ambiguity and manage competing objectives in a lean, fast-paced organization. You will be able to earn trust through relationship building and measurable performance. You will think strategically and analytically about business challenges, and possess a deep analytical background that contributes to AMERs success in meeting its business objectives. Your work will directly impact the strategy and decisions of the AWS Partner Organization that will better serve our customers in their journey to the cloud.

Your broad responsibilities will include driving the rhythm of the business - including Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, yearly planning - and cadenced reporting and metrics. You will analyze initiatives and processes and provide recommendations for improvement. You will build scalable mechanisms to support business operations processes. In addition, this individual will be responsible for supporting the development of operational planning - requiring effective collaboration with multiple internal executive stakeholders, leveraging data from cross-functional teams to solve problems, implement new reporting solutions, and deliver successfully against high standards.

Key job responsibilities

  • Be a business partner to leadership team, providing insights to help shape the strategy of the business, and strategic guidance in best practices of business operations influencing peers and cross functional teams.

  • Own and drive the Rhythm of the business, not limited to driving mechanisms, business reviews, cadences.

  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and insights.

  • Build and manage end-to-end goal planning mechanisms (e.g. defining goals, forecasting, target setting, distribution, operationalize tracking, attainment, and get-to-green plans).

  • Running processes aligned to day-to-day execution of the business as well as driving implementation of new tools and processes to continuously drive productivity improvement.

  • Create, implement, automate, and drive the global standardization of business processes, tools, and/or reporting, templates, methods, and cadences, including identifying and eliminating ineffective controls and procedures, and sharing best practices.

  • Ability to dive deep to find answers with actionable outcomes and/or solutions leveraging strong data extraction skills to curate insights through analyzing historic data, variances, and trends, and to identify and mitigate gaps/risks/impact and uncover opportunities.

  • Collaborate closely with functional stakeholders and Partner Intelligence team to ascertain business asks/needs, and to drive standardization, prioritization and automation of metrics, data, reporting, and dashboards.

  • Develop relationships and earn trust with Field Sales, Finance, HR, and other business partners.

  • Serve as a leader and point of contact to manage escalations and resolutions.

  • Support and deliver on any other ad-hoc requests, projects, initiatives, and/or analysis, as needed.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales operational processes, procedures and policies

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and experience with use of data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Quicksight, QlickView) required (extensive knowledge of Excel required)

  • Financial, analytical and communication skills; Experience in preparing and executing presentations of technical and business level data to both peers and leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Master’s degree

  • Understanding of cloud economics and/or experience working with cloud services

  • Have directly supported or had ownership of a program or line of business

  • Experience developing insights across various areas of customer-related data: financial, product, and marketing. Proven problem solving skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills.

  • Ability to drive a project end-to-end, deal with ambiguity, and competing objectives in a fast paced environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
