Whole Foods Market Senior Reporting Analyst - (Retail Ops/F&A, Tax, Workday-Prism) in Austin, Texas

Job Description

The Role: Are you ready to dive into the heart of our retail finance reporting operations? As our Workday Reporting Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of driving reporting enhancements and tackling new requests from our accounting, finance, and tax partners. in your agile approach, you'll assess, prioritize, and size your backlog, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and design innovative BRDs and reports. You'll leverage your Prism and Tableau expertise to create a story through data that directly improves the overall month, quarter and year-end accounting and tax processes. This role isn't just about crunching numbers; it's about reshaping our financial and reporting analytics strategy. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for more complex Reporting activities, including:

  • Ensuring supported business entities understand reporting, GAAP, and other requirements,

  • Engaging with departments and leaders to ensure accurate and timely financial information and reporting,

  • Analyzing financial data and reports to identify variances and develop corrective action plans,

  • Ensuring accurate and complete compilation and review of financial statements and related drafts and submissions,

  • Coordinating with other departments and monitoring periodic deliverables for internal and external auditors,

  • Working with leadership to prepare necessary internal financial information and analyses.

  • Acts as the Reporting representative on cross-functional task forces, as needed.

  • Assists with development/documentation and updating of company-wide processes.

  • Creates / updates policies and procedures, including interpretation of relevant guidance.

    Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of multiple reporting, and Accounting & Financial systems such as Excel, Prism, and Tableau.

  • Excellent statistical analysis and financial reporting skills.

  • Able to design data collection, and financial analysis and accounting reports.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting, audit services. SEC (or equivalent) reporting, periodic financial close, and tax preparation practices and procedures.

  • Able to identify areas for continuous process and system improvement.

  • Demonstrates resilience and the ability to bounce back from confusing or difficult situations.

  • Regularly interacts with colleagues or customers up to the senior leadership level.

  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.

  • Proactively works to accomplish critical / difficult tasks supporting business objectives.

  • Perseveres in the face of unexpected obstacles.

  • Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations.

  • Presents problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.

  • Understands customer, market and industry trends and emerging challenges.

    Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree, in Finance, Accounting or related program, Masters preferred

  • 4+ years’ relevant Workday FInance and Accounting reporting experience iincluding Prism and/or Tableau OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
