UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Senior Project Manager in Austin, Texas

Manages, develops, directs, and evaluates assigned complex IT programs or projects utilizing accepted project management methodologies and communication and consultation with clients, project team members, and other stakeholders.Develops project plans, including bottom-up and top-down time estimates, resource requirements, change management processes, risk management, milestone tracking, communication mechanisms, test plans, and deliverables. Coordinates project staffing assignments with management, functional leads, technical leads, and implementation partners.Identifies and resolves project risks and issues. Effectively communicates project status, progress, risks, and issues to drive projects to completion. Understands environmental influences and their impacts on timelines and work effort. Develops trust-based staff and client relationships to resolve issues as well as develop strategies and solutions within a federated university environment. Administers the support relationship and issue logs between UT and the product vendors.Works independently and exercises good judgment. Recognizes ambiguous assignments and takes necessary steps to determine what needs to be done to respond effectively and in a timely manner. Takes ownership and drives getting project technical, business, and/or strategic decisions made and documented.Demonstrates flexibility and creativity in effectively addressing both internal and external challenges.Applies, develops, and documents project management best practices and coaches members of the eBITS team to adopt those practices.Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, internal consulting, and management skills. Tailors project communications to meet the needs of specific audiences, including executives.
