KIHOMAC Senior Operations Research Analyst (Contingent) in Austin, Texas

KIHOMAC is seeking someone skilled in defense innovation to serve as the DODx Liaison in support of ARCWERX. ARCWERX is a dynamic hub for innovation within the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve. As the liaison, you will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and communication among various DoD innovation organizations. Drawing upon your deep understanding of defense innovation gained through prior experience within a DoD organization, you will facilitate seamless coordination efforts, resource sharing, and strategic planning to achieve shared objectives.

Key responsibilities include analyzing opportunities for collaboration, developing strategies to realize synergies, and identifying areas for potential partnership. You will establish and nurture robust relationships with both DoD and commercial innovation entities to stay at the forefront of the latest developments in defense innovation. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining performance metrics, transition processes, and pathways for a diverse range of innovation projects, spanning from administrative enhancements to advancements in lethality.

Moreover, you will conduct thorough research to identify commercialization pathways for innovation portfolio projects, thereby uncovering opportunities to minimize the government's investment in the advancement of dual-use technologies. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Expertise and Functions

  • Provide advanced studies and assessments to support technology transition activities related to the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve research and development projects. This may include manufacturing and quality assurance services by developing and maintaining performance metrics, transition processes, and transition pathways for a variety of innovation projects ranging from administrative improvements to lethality improvements. The Senior Analyst shall also research commercialization pathways for innovation portfolio projects that may offer opportunities to reduce the government’s required investment in the advancement of dual-use technologies.

  • Analyze opportunities for collaboration, develop strategies to realize synergies, and identifying areas for potential partnership between DoD organizations.

  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with both DoD and commercial innovation entities to stay at the forefront of the latest developments in defense innovation.

  • Provide innovation services support including coordination with Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve field-level innovation teams, collaboration with outsourced education partners, research of emerging technologies to determine applicability to Air Reserve Component (ARC) problem statements, and facilitation of development of ARC problem statements. The Senior Analyst may also coordinate and integrate across task elements for innovation related discoveries, challenges, solutions and planning.

  • Provide education, training, and tactics techniques and procedures (TTP) development assistance for Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve research and development projects. This may include the development of innovation training, providing innovation facilitation instruction for training events, coaching innovation teams participating in outsourced innovation training events, and guiding.

  • Provide support to Project Manager, Contracting, or senior-level Engineering personnel in the areas of: project scheduling, configuration management, finance and accounting, contracting, limited data analyses, database development or data gathering, preparation of technical/program reports or briefings, test plans and reports, and associated documentation, test or validation/verification assistance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Training (both required and desired):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management or other relevant discipline required

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area

Security:

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Active Secret Clearance required
