Project-Specific Activities -AV System Installation, CommissioningBuilds and Installs AV/IT technology solutions following detailed engineering and project management documentation. Identifies potential pitfalls related to timeline, design, budget, and implementation.Commissions and Calibrates AV/IT technology solutions following detailed engineering and project management documentation. Identifies potential pitfalls related to timeline, design, budget, and implementation. Coordinates the work of other staff and contractors performing the same.Designs AV/IT technology solutions creating and reviewing detailed engineering drawings, equipment and cable lists, budgets, and project management documents using software such as AutoCAD, Visio, MS Office, and various project management tools.Operational Support Activities Provides tier-2 escalation support to Comm-IT Services and Production teams for AV/IT incidents.Provides prompt and effective equipment maintenance/repair services in response to service orders for repair or maintenance of classroom AV equipment. Maintains deployed and hot-spare equipment in a state of readiness.Project-Support Activities and Consulting Consults with faculty and staff to develop new technology and improve existing technology solutions. Provide purchasing recommendations, solution design and setup consultation for faculty and staff.Identifies client needs based on their desired requirements and provides thoughtful assessment of feasibility, support cost and financial cost for implementing the required solutions.Ongoing Documentation and Quality AssuranceProvides testing and reports on quality assurance measures (such as audio or video calibration) for developed projects or equipment. Provides project documentation and training. Maintain accurate records in help ticket system, wikis, etc.Creates written documentation such as application papers and written operating procedures for equipment systems which improve upon manufacturers documentation for equipment systems and/or provide concise instructions for use based on the Technical Staff Assistants practical experience with the equipment. Documentation shall be authored for a variety of audiences including technical support staff, instructors, and end users.
