UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Project Manager IV (PM4) in Austin, Texas

Lead complex projects involving planning, design and execution of major higher education capital projects by providing project leadership, communication, coordination and conflict resolution to ensure project goals are met. May also be responsible for managing select projects as assigned by the Associate Director depending on resource needs.Responsible for project budget, schedule, and procurement of design and construction services. Assist Project Managers to drive progress of consultants to achieve expected functionality; and recommend alternatives to recover negative float. Facilitate timely decisions by campus representatives and report progress and issues impacting the project goals to stakeholders. Oversee project managers efforts to manage project from initiation through completion of construction.Advocate with integrity for the campus contract negotiations. Review and approve design and construction contracts, changes, technical service contracts, Guaranteed Maximum Price submittals, bid documents, pay applications, etc.Facilitate UT Austin and UT System approvals as required.During construction, direct and/or provide support to Project Team, Construction Administrators, and institution staff in management of construction activities and processes. Assist Project Managers in applying UT Austin Capital Planning and Construction project control processes to track progress; for consistency; to mitigate risks; and to assure compliance with Board of Regents Rules' Regulations and applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations. Stay current in Codes and Regulations applicable to design and construction, including International Building Codes, NFPA 101, TDLR, OSHA, ADA, ASHRAE 90.1, SWPPP, and any special requirements of the building type (e.g., healthcare, research labs, special campus project types, etc.) or the local jurisdictions.Support UT Austin in pre-project planning activities, including Capital Improvement Plan preparation and Board of Regents and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board submittals and approval processes.Participate in or lead process improvement initiatives as assigned by the Assistant Director.Other related functions as assigned. Collaborate with other UT Austin colleagues to initiate and develop process improvements.
