Assist in the development and implementation of multi-hazard comprehensive emergency plans. Assist in the revision and update of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) annually to include collaborating with other University personnel to revise and update all other emergency plans.Collaborate with faculty and staff in academic and administrative units to establish Building Emergency Management Teams (BEMT) for every building. Work with BEMTs to develop a Building Emergency Plan (BEP). Leads faculty and staff in academic and administrative units in an annual review and revision of their BEP.Assist in the training of University employees and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff in emergency operations and preparedness functions. Assist the Director of Emergency Management with coordinating and executing tabletops, training exercises to test the plans and prepare the University community for effective response to emergencies.Assist in the maintenance and preparation of a functional EOC including analyzing and inventorying necessary operational gear; test EOC communications including phones, computers and wireless services. Available for on-call response to perform emergency management functions and related duties during an emergency. Activate and perform functions in the EOC during planned event activations such as Texas Longhorn Football games.Create and maintenance of clear and accurate reports, records and databases to include after-action reports following drills/exercises and major emergencies, training records, BCEAPs, committee meeting notes, staff contact lists and all other emergency management records.Assist in the maintenance and testing of the Longhorn Alert emergency notification system and other systems that could be used during an emergency to ensure the safety of students, employees and visitors and makes recommendations for implementation.Responsible for the coordination of safety and security best practices during special events, including vehicular access control measures.Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the coordination of the university emergency management program.
