UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Electrical Distribution Electrician in Austin, Texas

Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify low and medium voltage metal-enclosed and metal-clad switchgear. All underground, exposed and overhead distribution systems including raceway, insulated, and non-insulated cable systems, all lighting systems, and all emergency systems. It is expected you will document work electronically.Medium, and low voltage cable pulling, and splicing for lead jacketed and EPR cables. Designated personnel required to climb high structures for servicing lighting.Operate forklift, bobcat, backhoe, bucket truck, cable trailer, cable pulling devices, and assorted personnel lifts. Drive UT vehicle. Maintains acceptable driving record as required by UT Systems Policy UTS157.Update record drawings and create switching orders. Review and evaluate design proposals and specifications for feasibility. Effectively communicate verbally and electronically.Participate in the on-call program and working after-hours.Perform other related functions as assigned. Experience with standard hand tools, digital volt-ohm meter, high voltage tester, high pot, megohmmeter. Training certification required within 18 months. Required to wear uniforms and carry University issues cell phone during work and on call hours.
