Oversee and administer all aspects of the Standardized Patient Program at Dell Medical School.Collaborate with faculty members and course/clerkship leaders in identifying and developing patient cases for SP activities.Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and manage persons to serve as Standardized Patients (SPs).Ensure that the training provided to SPs meets the specific needs of the curriculum, reflects sound instructional design, and follows best practices in standardized patient methodology and theories of theories.Evaluate program quality to assure that SPs are authentic, standardized, and accurate.Train SPs to assess, evaluate, and provide feedback to students based on curricular objectives.Maintain a library of SP cases/scenarios and related training materials and resources for faculty and learners.Supervise an SP Trainer to assist in SP recruitment, training, event management, and Assessment Center administration.Coordinate and maintain a calendar of program operations, including teaching and testing activities, practice opportunities for students, learner schedules, and course/clerkship results.Apply knowledge about curriculum requirements and educational activities to coordinate interprofessional health education program SP simulations.Participate in budget development and track expenses.Develop and lead workshops and/or informational sessions for learners, faculty, and staff.Consult with course directors and education deans in development of teaching and testing curricula involving Standardized Patients (SPs), that can realistically and economically be utilized to meet curricular objectives with high reliability and accuracy.Work closely in a collaborative relationship with SPs, faculty, learners, staff, and SOM leadership in the teaching, assessing, and remediation of clinical skills in both pre-clinical and clinical curricula.Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to develop program and curricular evaluation documentation, and learner assessment documentation, including evaluation tools and assessment strategies / timelines.Develop a comprehensive Clinical Performance Examination with faculty members for assessment of advanced students clinical competencies, educational program objectives, and Entrustable Professional Activities, including interstation development, checklist development, space and materials planning, analytics and software solutions, and reporting of results.Manage administration of all aspects of SP exams including scheduling, instructions, data collection and video capture, scoring of data, and creation of score reports for faculty and students to facilitate video review process. Provide summary reports of evaluations to program leadership.Schedule and maintain the Clinical Skills Assessment Center.Supervise the SP administrator/trainer who will maintain the provision and cleanliness of diagnostic tools along with ordering/maintaining supplies requested by the director.Supervise the set up the small group classrooms used in teaching of clinical skills, including maintenance and provision of diagnostic tools and supplies.Maintain low-fidelity task trainers, including purchase of related supplies, and set up for teaching activities.Collaborate with other partner health profession schools and institutions to develop and provide Standardized Patients.Other related duties as assigned.
