As a Product Design EPM, you will be responsible for the technical management of engineering development projects and enabling large cross-functional teams to deliver mechanically integrated electronic systems quickly and with high quality. Description

Our team is responsible for enabling multiple teams to efficiently deliver high-quality, complex systems by collaborating with various people to define system hardware, features, and schedule baseline. In this role, you will need to understand the complexities of hardware and software system development and be able to integrate all of it into a program plan and schedule that you then efficiently implement! You will lead program baseline and active investigations, system schedule, critical paths, and technical risks. You will also be responsible for identifying and highlighting engineering risk areas, team-up with engineering domain experts to develop mitigation paths forward, and clearly communicating project status, top issues, and customer concerns to the project core team, along with senior leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Support product definition and drive closure of architecture and technical opens in early stages of a project - Establish and manage program feature baseline, scheduling, budget, critical paths, and technology risk areas for execution through final delivery of the product - Identify and highlight technical risk areas and mitigation strategies in partnership with impacted teams - Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision making - Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management - Enable the development effort by creating and monitoring an efficient, streamlined process - Drive drawing releases and tooling kickoff with PD Engineering team and the vendors to meet ambitious schedules - Plan and implement prototype builds, directing factory operations and cross functional teams - Lead communication between project teams and external vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical preferred) with 5+ years industry work experience in hardware engineering program management.

  • Proven experience in hardware engineering program management or mechanical engineering design and leading multiple teams in new product development

  • Strong technical background with knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical engineering fundamentals; solid knowledge of computer architecture is highly desirable

  • Leadership skills and ability to build strong relationships across various product development teams and technologies and to inspire team members

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills and ability to navigate problem solving cross-functionally until full resolution is achieved

  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities with the ability to drive the team forward

  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change and remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty while fostering a collaborative team environment

  • Astonishing attention to detail and ability to effectively filter and distill relevant information for the right audience
