General description Work involves serving as section team lead and subject matter expert for team members by providing day-to-day direction and guidance for a team of Tax Compliance Analysts, overseeing the daily workflow and schedule adherence of team members, making adjustments in staffing in order to ensure proper phone coverage, and the monitoring of analysts to ensure optimum customer service. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates. Please Note: The selected Candidate will not receive an increase greater than $1900.00 per month. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Four (4) years of experience in a customer service environment, with two (2) years specifically in a call center. Work experience and/or training in multiple Texas taxes such as Sales Taxes, Franchise Taxes, Motor Vehicle Taxes, etc. Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Taxpayer Services section. Experience with processing of Texas tax forms and payments. Experience in a project lead, team lead and/or supervisor role. Experience communicating effectively in Spanish in a work environment. Substitution: One (1) additional year of experience in a customer service environment, preferably a call center, or experience performing research and analysis on tax related issues and/or legislation may substitute for thirty semester hours of the educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years). In this role you will: Oversee daily operations of the Taxpayer Services section and provides guidance and technical assistance to analysts by: Assigning and monitoring the duties and schedules of all team members in order to maintain phone coverage on all lines handled by Taxpayer Services. Monitoring calls handled by team members for customer service and accuracy. Provide input on team member performance to division managers/supervisors for evaluation purposes. Provide customer assistance primary phone inquiries regarding taxes administered by the Comptroller during peak call volumes periods. Review and evaluate information on service delivery system methods, outputs, and activities to identify gaps in resources and recommend improvements by tracking employee statistics and providing feedback through progress reporting. Investigatenew concepts and methods Conducttraining or ensureadequate training is provided for section employees. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, coworkers, and staff. Veterans: To receive veterans preference a copy of your DD214 (Member 4) is required.
