Amazon Business Operations Manager, Analyst Relations in Austin, Texas

The Analysts Relations (AR) team is a strategic marketing function with the primary objective of creating advocacy with industry analysts that leads to recommendations for our services. As an organization, our focus is positioning AWS accurately and positively, and ensuring we have a coordinated response to key issues that may span the AWS business.

As the Business Operations Manager, you support the AR team across reporting, analytics, contract negotiations and OpEx budget management. We seek a data-driven, organized, and passionate individual, who can dive deep to improve process efficiency and solve problems for stakeholders across the region. You will work cross functionally, engaging with Program Managers, Product Managers, Marketing Managers, Tech and Business Leaders on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will thrive in fact-paced environments, be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, and invent and simplify processes.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the team to own operational deliverables, such as reporting, resourcing, and narrative development for the overall business strategy.

  • Lead budget management operations, contract negotiations, and license strategy

  • Track and manage licenses and pre-purchased services across multiple vendors

  • Lead contract negotiations and manage vendor relationship

  • Train and enable team and Senior Leadership on spending and transactional policies

  • Play a critical role to communicate any potential risks with strategic projects

  • Collaborate and develop monthly business reviews with Senior Leadership including VP of Marketing and Directors

  • Plan scalable reporting mechanism and propose relevant Marketing metrics. Define, measure and leverage KPIs to consistently improve.

  • Drive weekly/monthly cadence with stakeholders across multiple geos to provide regular business updates

  • Define and develop key marketing support systems/processes required to meet the rapid growth of the business and achieve revenue attainment and market development objectives

  • Support annual OP1/OP2/goal planning activities and develop actionable insights

  • Develop relationships and processes with finance, HR, operations, procurement, legal and other stakeholders to identify and address reporting requirements

  • Think creatively to determine how to streamline processes and improve the overall efficiency of the team, including team communication, best practices, etc.

  • Automate tasks and develop mechanisms Amazon Analyst Relations policies and standards, e.g. standard operating procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • 3+ years experience in program or project management.

  • Experience with Project management (Workfront, Asana, Smartsheet) and analytics services like QuickSight and Tableau.

  • Experience in development of workflows in project management tools.

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience.

  • 2+ years experience with Finance management systems (Coupa or similar). Experience in multi-million dollar contract negotiations.

  • Experience working with vendors, finance, procurement, and legal.Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management skills with experience gaining consensus and driving deliverables with individuals inside and outside the organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail. Analytical tendencies with a background in Finance or Marketing Operations. Ability to communicate business problems in simple and data backed narrative format.

  • Experience working with distributed teams and excel at cross-group collaboration

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $151,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
