Pedestrian Facility Project Manager I:Assists in overseeing project management activities for pedestrian facility projects to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Assists with contract administration, compliance and coordination of planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations with consultants, districts, divisions and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Coordinates the work of professional and/or technical staff. Work requires extensive contact with governmental agencies, officials and private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Pedestrian Facility Project Manager II:Performs advanced project and program management work for pedestrian facility projects to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Responsible for various project development stages to include planning, design, contract administration, statutory compliance; and coordinating and communicating with consultants, districts, divisions, and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Coordinates and/or leads the work of professional and/or technical staff. Work requires extensive contact with governmental agencies, officials and private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:Pedestrian Facility Project Manager I:Conducts project reviews and inspections with facility inspectors and district/division project managers.Performs site visits to oversee and monitor construction projects. Serves as a project leader.Compiles and distributes project information, status reports, and project budget expendituresCoordinates project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, or private sector partners and contractors and assure coordination and approvals through FHWA.Creates, maintains and updates GIS databases and cartographic products using the ESRI suite of ArcGIS software.Directs, develops, and evaluates projects using accepted project management methodologies.Directs, develops, implements, and evaluates project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections.Oversees or manages the creation and production of cartographic map products, web mapping applications, and ArcGIS Online maps and services.Reviews geographic data from various sources, including other state agencies, aerial imagery, existing maps, and databases.Generates reports and produces graphic products.Identifies potential project impediments, risks, and issues; and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them.Provides support, coordination and advice in the development, implementation and maintenance of projects and programs.Assists in engineering-related data collection, inspections, assessments, analysis, and review activities for plan development by others.Serves as a liaison and division contact in area of expertise and represents division at state and local level.Trains professional and technical staff.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Pedestrian Facility Project Manager II:All of the above and:Oversees GIS/GPS technical support.Oversees complex projects and ADA/Accessibility Compliance program working with multiple organizations requiring extensive coordinating, planning and scheduling during all phases.Implements the vision and develops the overall approach for the program, its major milestones, deliverables, and managing the assigned budget to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes.Communicates with FHWA, districts, divisions, Department management, and project stakeholders by providing the status of projects, submitting decision items, identifying potential risks and challenges, and recommending solutions to mitigate or avoid project delays.Develops and/or interprets contract requirements and specifications in sup ort of pedestrian facility projects.Manages professional service contracts to include contract interpretation, compliance monitoring, developing work authorizations and supplemental agreements, problem and dispute resolution, processing payments, and managing the budget.Develops, recommends and/or interprets policies and procedures regarding projects or program activities.Prepares and makes presentations
