Job Description:
The Role:
Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to join our team. The person filling this position reports to the EHS Manager and will play a critical role in promoting effective initiatives that achieve industry best EHS and sustainability performance.
What Youll Do:
Engage and collaborate with personnel at all levels to implement and manage industry best environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local occupational health, safety and environmental rules and regulations as well as facilitate the implementation and management of global EHS Programs.
Deliver EHS training, with a focus on New Hire Orientation.
Be proactive in helping to implement immediate and effective corrective actions to eliminate safety hazards.
Support the design review of new projects and modifications to existing processes and facilities to identify and resolve EHS issues.
Conduct, participate in, or chair committees in support of the overall EHS Management System.
Conduct risk and ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements.
Assist with the campus Waste Management Program, including assisting with periodic hazardous material training, management and of waste manifests, completion of weekly site waste inspections, profiling waste and supporting waste pick-ups .
Help oversee the Industrial Hygiene Program, including monitoring, analyzing results, and ensuring proper controls and awareness.
Perform various ISO Audit requirements to earn and maintain ISO Certification for 14001 & 45001.
Champion a culture of EHS excellence by promoting engagement and buy-in.
