Prime Healthcare Area Director, Operations and Special Projects in Aurora, Illinois

Responsibilities

At Biomedical Services, Inc., the Area Director – Operations & Special Projects will have dual responsibility of providing overall direction and execution of Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) at the hospitals in the designated region and working directly with the Corporate leadership team across a wide range of functions to plan, direct and coordinate strategic corporate projects and initiatives, developing operational plans, participating in and identifying performance improvement activities; improving the quality of department and supervising assigned special projects. The individual leads a team of Area managers, Biomed Site Leads and Biomed Technicians in the designated region and assists in recruiting, training, and developing a highly motivated and dedicated team. Provides guidance, leadership and coaching to the Biomed team that aligns with Prime Healthcare’s vision, mission, and goals. Oversees conducting meetings at least once every month, setting goals for the region and reviewing the progress of his/her team. Review and approve employee time, attendance, and payroll data from time sheets. Serves as a project team member on project implementations; independently completing assigned tasks of medium to high complexity resulting in successful and on-time delivery of projects. Serves as a primary liaison for all Hospital Executive Leadership and the Corporate Team on all medical equipment technology issues for the region. Directs the Biomedical Department during regulatory inspections like The Joint Commission (TJC), DNV-GL, Hospital Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and any other applicable state regulatory agencies. Ensures that the onsite staff understand and follow all company policies and procedures. Responsible to ensure that all scheduled work is accomplished on time, customer needs are met, and the day-to-day operations impacting revenue are communicated as needed and appropriate resources are utilized to minimize any service interruptions. The individual will also be responsible for supporting operational needs and improving organization’s service delivery by developing, directing, and executing multiple cross functional centralized projects such as, but not limited to, alternate equipment maintenance strategies, strategic parts procurement and distribution, call center, employee training programs, equipment transfer logistics etc. He/she will play a critical role in evaluating and implementing the company’s most important initiatives and provide valuable insight and analysis to ensure streamlined and cost-effective services are provided. Promotes efficient use and management of all resources and develops new and innovative processes. Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with customers and management. Proactively identifies customer needs and manages resources as necessary to ensure smooth daily biomed operations. Qualifications

Required qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.

  • Experience working in an IDN setting required.

  • Knowledge of relevant TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, and other applicable standards and regulations required.

  • Strong Leadership, team building, coaching/staff development and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong planning and organization, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend solutions.

  • Good general business skills, high degree of confidentiality, maturity, tactfulness, and business ethics. High degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to write reports and make presentations on operational and technical issues.

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Clinical applications, CMMS Systems).

  • Ability to travel to Prime Healthcare locations as needed.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
