Pay: $58.11 - $87.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
Supervises daily staff activities for the inpatient operating room (OR) pharmacy operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
State licensure as a Pharmacist.
2 years of post-graduate experience.
Preferred:
- PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Pharmacy training required. PGY2 in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency training or hospital administration experience encouraged.
Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Critical Care/Solid Organ Transplant/Thrombosis Hemostasis/Operating Room Clinical Services, this position is responsible for the overall management of the inpatient OR pharmacy. This individual will be charged with developing clinical and operational workflows designed to provide evidence-based and cost-effective medication dispensing, monitoring, and distribution. A solid working knowledge of USP 795/797/800 standards is required in order to be successful in this role.
The Inpatient Pharmacy OR Supervisor will have general oversight of the OR pharmacists and technicians, in addition to pharmacy services provided to the ORs, PACU, and other procedure areas. This individual will provide leadership and oversight of training, education, and competency of pharmacy staff. The Pharmacy OR Supervisor works closely with the rest of the inpatient leadership team, including the Pharmacy Purchasing Manager, the Clinical Pharmacist Supervisors/Managers, the Manager of Pharmacy Technical Support, the Medication Safety Team, Department of Anesthesiology, Department of Surgery, and Peri-operative/peri-procedure nursing amongst others. In addition, the Pharmacy OR Supervisor will participate in a leader on call rotation to support staff and pharmacy services. Lastly, the Pharmacy OR Supervisor will participate in multidisciplinary collaboration with providers to optimize quality and safety in the OR and procedural settings.
The Pharmacy OR Supervisor will be involved with our PGY1/2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency. Previous critical care experience is preferred, but not required.
