We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer supporting one of our premier programs in the business unit, where your knowledge of Ground Segment and Mission CONOPS development, analysis and trade studies as well as flight dynamics modeling and simulation will be keep you challenged. The work is on-site at our Aurora, CO campus.
What You Will Do
Support Ground Segment and Mission CONOP development, analysis and trades
Work with external interfaces with regards to development
Review the outputs of Orbital Dynamics flight and conjunction assessments
Work with program leadership to ensure effective risk mitigation, testing, and opportunity capture
Apply scientific and mathematical knowledge when performing engineering tasks
Review the outputs of systems modeling and analysis, ensuring the results can be used for the intended purpose
Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10+ years of prior relevant experience
Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date and ability to obtain Special Access. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Ground Segment and Mission CONOPS development and analysis experience
Modeling and Simulation analysis experience as related to ground segment and on orbit activities
Experience with large ground satellite control systems with understanding of Planning and Scheduling and Command & Control
Business development and IRAD experience
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities as well as demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with management and individual contributors as well as experience working projects, and/or programs consisting of Ground-related SE, SW development, and IV&V functions
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with the following:
Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
Software Engineering Experience, developing, testing, and integrating code
GEOINT CONOPS development from a ground segment perspective
Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
Experience with different Architecture Frameworks
Experience with STK and FreeFlyer in performing systems analysis and design

Location Information: This position is for an onsite role on our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
