Job Overview

Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and following established policies and procedures, performs a variety of technical procedures to support hospital inpatient or outpatient pharmacy operations.The Pharmacy Technician Senior also teaches and trains Pharmacy Technician Associates, Pharmacy Technicians, interns, and students and participates in safety and quality improvement projects.Assists with development of departmental policies, procedures, and training program materials.

Additional Information

Department: Pharmacy Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Variable, rotating day and evening shifts weekly as determined by department need. Shift Times: 5:00am-1:30pm, 6:00am-2:30pm, 2:00pm-10:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month (every 4th weekend), rotation determined by business need and training Holiday Requirement: 2 major holidays per year

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - High School Diploma or Equivalent EXPERIENCE -Three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience EQUIVALENCY - Completion of pharmacy technician program may substitute for one (1) year of the experience requirement. CERTIFICATION(S) - State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHAT) Certification Certificate through a nationally recognized certification board or body approved by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcare Association (NHA) Inpatient: Sterile Compounding Certificate And one (1) of the following certifications: Hazardous Medication certificate OR Medication History Certificate Billing and Reimbursement Certificate Controlled Substances Diversion Prevention Certificate Hazardous Drug Management Certificate
