Job Summary:

General Operations Management

  • Act as a first point-of-contact for the Division of Surgical Oncology including the answering and directing of incoming calls and walk-in customers

  • Composes official communications to the Department on behalf of the Chair and Director. Communications could include policy changes, general messages from the Chair, and will require excellent communication skills and a high level of polish and attention to detail.

  • Coordinate and schedule international travel arrangements for the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology. They will be responsible for managing complex itineraries and ensure compliance with travel policies.

Accounting and Finance Support

  • Supports faculty and the DAD with reimbursement and expense reports on the behalf of faculty and staff as well as advises and informs of appropriate processes and policies related to procurement and financial transactions.

  • Responsible for procurement of goods and services for the division and reconcile credit card and division expenses.

  • Responsible for reimbursements of travel, hotels, transportation, conferences, licenses, or classes.

Program Coordination

  • Provide day-to-day program support to the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology including but not limited to calendar management, travel, reimbursement, official functions, licensing and credentials, faculty meetings.

  • Supports the Division Administrative Director (DAD) with administrative duties including but not limited to calendar management of multiple physicians, event coordinating, reserving space, placing catering orders, and taking attendance/meeting minutes.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry Professional:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, business administration, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field.

Intermediate Professional:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, business administration, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field.

  • 1 year of experience providing high-level business operations support.

Senior Professional:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, business administration, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field.

  • 2 years of experience providing high-level business operations support.

Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing executive-level administrative support.

  • Experience with travel coordination with a focus on international travel.

  • Experience in an academic and/or healthcare environment.

  • Familiarity with CU Systems (e.g., Marketplace, Concur, etc.).

  • Knowledge of CU Medicine, UCH and/or University of Colorado Denver policies, rules and regulations, and administrative structure.

The Department of Surgery (DOS) Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a Business Services Professional (BSP) to provide high-level, independently functioning support of business processes and functions of the Office of the Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and its faculty. The Business Services professional manages calendar, operational, fiscal, and educational tasks in an independent manner with discretion, and interacts with both internal and external stakeholders as well as hospital partners. The Business services Professional in the Division of Surgical Oncology will join the administrative team and will work both independently and in collaboration with faculty and program leadership. This role is responsible for providing administrative and technical support (i.e., scheduling, academics, onboarding and continuing education) to the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology. This position will be responsible for independently organizing, implementing, and supervising the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology. schedule and all administrative operations. This position will oversee the functionality of daily business tasks and requires considerable organization, focus, analytical and technical skills.

this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO. This can move to hybrid, 1 – 2 days a week once trained.
