Job Overview

Ensures safe, appropriate, and economical use of drugs through the application of specialized skills and knowledge in pediatric patient care. This team member is part of the Critical Care Competency Group. As a member of this group, the pharmacist will have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams caring for our critical care population. Coverage areas include neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, cardiac intensive care, emergency department, cardiac transplant, labor & delivery, and the operating room. This pharmacist will serve as the medication expert on the multidisciplinary team, review and verify orders, perform therapeutic drug monitoring, participate in code response, answer drug information questions, and more. Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree Experience: Completion of one year pharmacy residency Equivalency: One year of pharmacy work experience accepted in lieu of residency Certification(s): BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute accepted) Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Pharmacist license

Provides drug information services by responding to questions regarding medication compatibilities, adverse drug events, regimens, dosi g, interactions, storage and disposal, compounding,therapeutic uses of medications and pharmaceutical supplies in a timely manner; using a systematic approach to effectively searching, retrieving, and evaluating the literature and appropriately communicating and applying the information to the patient care situation; and assisting with the development, maintenance, and implementation of hospital and department policy and procedures related to medication use, storage, restrictions, and administration
